TRUE ADVENTURE

The best way that a man could test his readiness to encounter the common variety of mankind would be to climb down a chimney into any house at random, and get on as well as possible with the people inside. And that is essentially what each one of us did on the day that he was born. This is, indeed, the sublime and special romance of the family. It is romantic because it is a toss-up. It is romantic because it is everything that its enemies call it. It is romantic because it is arbitrary. It is romantic because it is there...The element of adventure begins to exist; for an adventure is, by its nature, a thing that comes to us. It is a thing that chooses us, not a thing that we choose...The supreme adventure is being born. In other words, when we step into the family we step into a fairytale. ~GK Chesterton, Heretics

School is in Session

A typical scene at our house...

Suava loves to write notes to her friends and to Mommy and Daddy and also to draw pictures. She has already surpassed the artistic talents of her parents (which I will admit was not that challenging) and she is incredibly prolific! Kai has been practicing his alphabet a lot lately and is quite good with all his capitals--now we just have to get him started on his lowercase letters. He also likes to draw and practice writing the names of everyone in the family and his friends. And Caitanna likes to scribble on whatever paper is in front of her irregardless of whether it is a masterpiece of her siblings or not! We hear a lot of "No Caitanna!" as paper is being pulled away from her. We have found her artwork on the bathroom wall and are relieved that the Magic Eraser lives up to the hype!

Suava's first day of school and the sheer admiration of her little sister

In the classroom on that special first day

Suava is loving school since she gets to see all her friends each day. They are a really cute group and all the girls greet each other excitedly every morning with hugs and compliments on their clothes and hair:) The morning flies by as she has to be picked up at 11:30 each morning so K and C don't miss her too much.
